Many of the documents relate to the Act of Parliament authorising the exportation of machinery parts by Matthew Boulton to St Petersburg for the Mint, including resolutions and correspondence of the Birmingham Memorialists, a group of merchants and manufacturers who raised concerns over the authorisation of Boulton to export parts to Russia.
