Title

"Verses written by P.D." (Peter Downes) "while at Sea aged 15 in the Year 1793". On the back of the sheet is another superscription, "P. Downes January 10, 1793". One of the pieces is called "the first verse of a Song on the Victory of the Nile composed on the 17 August 1798 the last night before the Action between the Leander and Le Genereux &c." Peter Downes was killed in this action
