The building plots were offered for sale by the United Land Company Limited, a London property company. The plans were given to the London Borough of Southwark Library Services by Messrs. Gustavus Thompson (solicitors), Three Quays, Tower Hill, London EC3, acting for the De Crespigny family who at one time had large estates in Camberwell. None of the plans refers to properties known to have belonged to the family nor did the United Land Co.Ltd. figure in conveyances made by the family.
