Description

This manuscript is a general introduction to the country of France through a history of its royal, aristocratic and legal structures as well as the origins of the French people. It is written in one hand and includes a table of contents. The title page details that it has been : "Corrige et augmente par l'Autheur en l'an de grace 1669". Whilst the published and printed book titled L'Estat de la France, by Nicholas Besongne was written around this time, and covers similar subject matter, this manuscript does not appear to be a direct copy of Besongne's text.
