Pokesdown Primitive Methodist Society first met at Cromwell Hall. In 1897 they built a new church in Hannington Road, Boscombe. In 1955 they joined with Boscombe St George's and sold the church to the Bournemouth Blind Aid Society. The proceeds went towards the building of the new Methodist Church at Kinson.
