Description (What the record is about)
-
He has been at Hawkestone and has laid up the writings Hill sent down in the 3 boxes in the manner he directs.
The rains which have fallen heavily have retarded the working at the old pool below Burreys house which is in a good forwardness.
The writings answer the schedule.
He is perturbed that Hill has promised to provide him with £900 by Michaelmas whereas he has engaged to pay Sherrard the £1,400 at Midsummer, so that he begs to be furnished with the £900 by midsummer because Sherrard has given notice to his creditors then to receive it.
He will then execute a mortgage of his estate in Stoke upon Tearne for the £1,400.
The Lord Kilmorreys steward says that his mortgage shall be paid off in November next - i.e. principal and interest.
He hears nothing of Mr. Owen of Condover selling any advowsons.
He wishes him a good journey back to Richmont.
