Between (1) William Cockburn, William Vernon Harcourt, Charles Hawkins, William Henry Dixon, Charles Vanden Bempole Johnstone and others, all members of the Chapter, and (2) the Revd William Hewson of a covenant whereby William Hewson undertakes to drop all present and future legal action against the Dean and Chapter in respect of his dismissal as Headmaster of St Peter's School, and the Dean and Chapter undertake to pay any expenses he incurred as a result of dropping the case at present being heard in the Court of Chancery, to pay him his salary as headmaster until the date of this indenture, and thereafter to pay him an annuity for life of £175.
