Gallantry Notes: Citation for MC (LG 4/10/1919): At Preselles Farm, near Sequehart on 8 October 1918 he was in charge of a section of machine guns which had been detailed to go forward with an infantry battalion and assist its advance. When opposition was met with on the right flank he immediately got his guns into action and succeeded in silencing the enemy machine guns and killing their crews. His coolness and gallantry were a splendid example to his men.;
