Description

Loose mounted prints, with captions and a manuscript list signed by Taylor. The photographs constitute the earliest known views in Nepal and were taken between 1863-65, when Taylor was the Assistant Resident in Kathmandu. The series includes architectural studies in Kathmandu, Patan, Pasupati and Bhadgaon, and portraits of Maharaja Jung Bahadur, Colonel George Ramsay and King Surendra Bikram Sah.
