Folio 182. Letter from William Harry Crafer surveyor of Letton parish in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union to The Local Government Board in response to their letter of 14 March 1885. He writes to say that the valuation list in force March 13 1884 amounts to £1692 whereas the rateable value collected was only £1695 10s. The difference occurred because of a farm being divided and re-occupied by new tenants with the old tenant still holding a part of his land in his possession the rateable value of which was omitted from being collected.
Annotated: 'Refer to auditor (Mr T H K Roberts) for information', 2 April 1885.
