Wisbech Dock and the Improvement of the River Nene.

Description:

1. Construction of a navigable channel commencing near the termination of a timber piling on the Western bank of the River Nene and passing due North through the parish of Wisbech St. Peter, and joining the original course of the river again near Meadow's Slip in Walsoken.

2. Construction of a wet dock of an area of about 9½ acres on the Western bank of the river.

3. Construction of a lock or cut forming an entrance from the river to the wet dock, near Henson's Shipbuilding yard.

4. Construction of a new quay along the Western bank of the new cut, between Leverington Road, Wisbech and the new lock.

5. Laying of a new road to be a continuation of Nene Parade, Wisbech, in replacement of that which will be affected by the above works.
