Freemantle Collection. W. T. Freemantle (d.1931), was a noted bibliographer. His collections were mainly of printed works. The first volume of his 'Sheffield bibliography' was published in 1911. The notes and manuscripts for volumes two and three are in the Brotherton Library and Rotherham Public Library, respectively. The small collection of record material consists of:
Manorial: Court roll of Borough of Wigmore (Hereford), 1441-1442.
Deeds (about 70): Bradfield chapelry, 1327-1498 (20), Birstall, 14th century (3), miscellaneous Yorkshire and Derbyshire, 16th-18th centuries.
Parish: Rotherham: copy, sessions roll relating to dispute about poor relief, 1630.
