Description

Part 2: The Atlantic airliner. This is a civil version of the Vulcan with a take-off weight of 200,000 lbs. Fitted with four Olympus engines it would carry a payload of 21,000 lbs across the Atlantic cruising between 41,000 and 46,000 ft. Avro had worked out comparative operating costs of the aircraft with the Bristol engines and with our fan engine
