RCP-LEGAC/2411/16. Henry Martin Doyle. Manuscript letter to Dr. Liveing protesting that the use of "Dr." was ingrained in the popular mind; stating that Sir Andrew Clarke whose Clinical Clark he had been called him "Dr." as soon as he had taken his Diploma; that advertising was the recognised custom in Australia; that he should have to consider whether he could continue his practice if the College persisted in its censure; and that he would not degrade his profession by buying the title "M.D." 20 May 1894.

RCP-LEGAC/2411/17. Dr. Liveing. Draft Manuscript letter to Henry Martin Doyle informing him that Bye-Law CLXXVII far from being absolute had only been enacted in 1892 when the College revised its Bye-Laws and decided the Resolution against assuming the title of Doctor should become a Bye-Law. 25 June 1894.

RCP-LEGAC/2411/18. Edward Liveing. Draft Manuscript letter to Henry Martin Doyle stating the Censors had considered his letter of May 20th and saw no reason for changing their opinion; and stating that Bye-Law CLXXVII had been passed in 1892 when the Resolution against unlawful use of title "Dr." was given force of Bye-Law. 19 July 1894.
