Folio 181. Draft letter from the Local Government Board to Benjamin Bird, overseer of the poor of the parish of Wellingham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union. It concerns his letter of 20 February 1875 in which he appealed against the disallowance of the sum of £3 2s 11d which the auditor J H K Roberts [J Howell K Roberts] had made in his accounts for half year ended 29 September 1874, following his recent audit. It states that the matter will receive their attention but they request that in the meantime he forward to them the receipt of his predecessors for the payment of the sum disallowed.
