The Fawkes family owned Hammonds Farm on Painswick Road, Stroud and Fawkes' Flour Mills (now demolished) which was near the Stroud Subscription Rooms. The donor went to Hammonds Farm as a companion and servant to Clara Fawkes (see 6) and subsequently married Clara's (great?) nephew Edgar Arthur Richard Fawkes, who died in 1996
