1. Miscellaneous papers mainly on Christianity and politics, 1926-56:

Letter from John Charles Wilmot, later (1950) 1st Baron Wilmot of Selmeston, to Groser, 3 December 1926, concerning divisions in the Lewisham Labour Party (Kent) (f.1).

Papers concerning the Catholic Crusade, 1927-32, comprising (ff.3-5v) J. Bucknall and J. Groser, The cross and the red flag (The Commonwealth. The organ of the Christian Social movement, 1927, 233-7); (ff.6-15) Manifesto of the Catholic Crusade, no date; (ff.16-17v) Catholic Crusade and the political crisis, no date; (f.18) Some articles of the faith, no date; (ff.19-20) reasons by Groser and others for resigning from the Catholic Crusade, 1932. (ff.3-20).

Notice of Groser's lecture to the Fabian Society entitled 'Does Socialism need religion?' (Fabian Tracts no.284), [1951] (ff.21-3).

Papers concerning Groser's membership of a group appointed by the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party to prepare a statement on 'The individual and society' for submission to the annual conference in 1956 (ff.24-68).

3. Correspondence of Groser with Geoffrey Fisher, Archbishop of Canterbury, on South Africa, 1954 (ff.77-84v).

4. Papers concerning the Royal Peculiar of St. Katharine, Butchers Row, Ratcliffe (London), comprising a memorandum on the reconstitution of St. Katharine's after the war, [1948] (ff.85-90); an appreciation of Groser on his retirement as Master, 1962 (ff.91-4); programmes of courses for theological and technical students and clergy seminars on the Church and Society (ff.95-115). 5. Papers concerning Groser's book Politics and persons, 1948-9, including (ff.128-39) review and letters from the economist Richard Henry Tawney, who contributed an introduction (ff.116-39).

6. Reviews and other papers concerning a film of Murder in the cathedral by Thomas Stearns Eliot, poet, in which Groser played the part of Becket, 1951 (ff.140-50).

7. Biographical and obituary notices. They include correspondence with Charles Edward Curzon, Bishop of Exeter, concerning the offer of the parish of Dartington, Devon, to Groser, and an account of the parish (ff.155-62) by Rowland Alexander Edwards, Vicar of Dartington, and (1948) Canon of Norwich, 1948. Also included are biographical notes contributed to John Groser. East London priest, ed. K. Brill, 1971, and the draft life of Groser included in the Dictionary of Labour biography, ed. J. Saville and J.M. Bellamy, 1980 (ff.151-290).
