Folios 264-265. Letter from W M Barton [Walter May Barton], Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board. He encloses a 'Proposal of service for pauper child maintained in union workhouse' form. The pauper is George Ewen, aged 14, and he has last lived in North Elmham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union. He had lived in the workhouse for his whole life. It is proposed that he works for G J E Hamilton, Farmer, Newton by Castle Acre, Norfolk.
