Committee created to discharge poor law functions according to the Administrative Scheme for the County of Yorkshire (East Riding) under the terms of the Local Government Act, 1929. It was responsible for the areas of Sculcoates Rural District, Cottingham Urban District, Hessle Urban District and Hedon Borough. It was dissolved 1935 and Guardians Committees for Beverley and Haltemprice and Holderness predominantly assumed responsibility (PGA, PGG).
