report 19/5/1919: "encounter of 17/5/1919 at 1800 hours between ARAZDAIN and ARARAT - I was proceeding from ARARAT to NORASHEM with the Armoured train, when about 6 versts from ARARAT some six Armenian soldiers requested me to support them against some Curds. I stopped my train. After stopping, I was fired on by the Curds who had taken a position behind a banked hedge. I opened fire, firing over their heads. They continued firing at me, so I directed guns on them, traversing the banked hedge. I was informed that the Armenians had captured three prisoners, one Curd killed and three wounded. I brought the three prisoners to ARARAT.;
