St Wilfrid's College, Cotton

Additional collections to the Sedgley Park/Cotton College collection. They comprise application forms for boys as church students at St Wilfrid's College, Oakamoor, Cotton, Staffordshire, arranged alphabetically, and photographs and theatrical programmes belonging to the late Rev. Vincent leo Armishaw (1924-2002), who was a master at the school between 1952 and 1976 and took most of the photographs.

The Application Forms were among the archives of St Mary's College, Oscott, that were deposited in the Birmingham Archdiocesan Archives in 2002. They were probably among the papers of Mgr Leonard Shepherd Emery (1875-1961), Rector of Oscott from 1935-1961, and for many years Secretary of the Church Education Board. Since the forms had no intrinsic link with the seminary, the decision was taken to remove them the Oscott archives and treat them as an additional collection for Cotton.

The photographs and theatre programmes were among the personal effects of the late Fr Armishaw, and were desposited in the Birmingham Archdiocesan Archives by his brother in 2003.
