Description

Collection of 82 uncaptioned lantern slides of Indian subjects, principally architectural but also including studies of Indian types, trades and occupations, probably produced for lecture purposes. The majority of the photographs appear to be of professional quality from various sources, made from the 1880s onwards. Locations include: Calcutta, Bombay, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Lucknow, Cawnpore, Varanasi, Darjeeling, Madurai, Thanjavur, Ahmadabad.
