Bridlington Cemetery was administered by the Bridlington Burial Board, formed in 1873, and then by a Joint Committee appointed by Bridlington Borough Council and parish meetings acting as the burial authority from 1895. Responsibility for the cemetery was transferred to North Wolds (later East Yorkshire) Borough Council in 1974 and then to East Riding of Yorkshire Council in 1996.
