4th Jan. 1864. Meadows Frost to John Walker, asking him to insert the accompanying motion on the notice paper for the next meeting of the Council. With:-
Motion:- That a committee be formed to consider whether seeing that the Town Clerk is an adherent to a small section of the River Dee Commissioners and a holder of the River Dee Company's Stock, it may not be expedient to obtain further legal advice as to questions arising between the City and the River Dee Company.

14th. Jan. 1864. Draft letter on behalf of John Walker, stating that the Council have appointed Mr. Robert Nobles, Bradford, their Fire Brigade Superintendent and returning testimonials.

19th July 1864. Letter from Treasury Chambers, to E.S. Roberts, City Treasurer, concerning money due to the City re the Return of Criminal Prosecution expences during the half year ending 31st Dec. 1863.
20th July 1864. Tho. Dixon asking for the plans of the new Exchange to be removed as soon as possible, on account of preparing for the approaching Reviews / at the Roodee.
11th Aug. 1864. John Trevor to Mr. Paul, asking him if it will be convenient to call a meeting of the Finance Committee for 10 o'clock on the morrow, to consider Mr. Fords proposal to sell the ground rents and other business. He requests that the Treasurer be asked to attend to let them know what the Saltney ground rents produce and how much land there is yet to dispose of. Mr. Shone could probably attend with a list of the parties who have not paid their rates.
15th Aug. 1864. The Examiners of Criminal Law Accounts to the Treasurer of Chester, stating that they are unable to furnish any additional particulars for the information of the Council. The items of disallowance in the Return for the year ending 31st Dec. 1863 are precisely similar in character to those made in previous accounts. They suggest that if the Council is not satisfied with the information offered, they should depute some gentleman to attend and inspect the Vouchers in which the disallowances in question occur.
