19 Christopher Fulleger alias Domine, John Fulleger alias Domine, Edward Turle, Robert Symons and Isaac Jynnyngs, all of Headcorn, husbandmen, riotously assembled together with other wrongdoers to the number of five persons with cannon, swords, shields, iron tipped staffs and other weapons and on 8th September, 1600, at Headcorn assaulted Thomas Sacrey and wounded him.
At this session at Maidstone 23rd September, 1600, the said Christopher, John, Robert and Isaac appear by Herbert Cadman, their attorney, and claim that the indictment is insufficient in law, plead not guilty and put themselves on the country. John Webb, gent., clerk of the peace, prosecutes.
Writ of non omittas.............. quin venire facias to summon a jury for the session at Canterbury on Tuesday next after feast of Epiphany [7th January, 1601]. John Hudson of Ulcombe, clothier, becomes surety for Christopher, John, Robert and Isaac in £5 and Christopher for himself in £10, for their appearance. On the aforesaid day the defendants appear by their attorney and John Webb appears in person but none of the jury. Therefore postponed until the Tuesday after the close of Easter next [21st April, 1601] at Maidstone. Sheriff to have the jury there and the same day is given to John Webb and to Christopher, John, Robert and Isaac. Afterwards at the session at Canterbury, on 12th January, 1602, the defendants appear by their attorney and John Webb appears in person but none of the jury. Therefore no further process to be made for a jury and no further action taken against Christopher, John, Robert and Isaac.

20 Richard Merryam of Horsmonden, yeoman, on 10th February, 1598, "hath converted" a certain building "to be used as a cottage" for habitation to which the said Richard has not assigned 4a. of "grownd" "to be accompted" according to the statute for measuring lands, being the freehold "inheritance" of the said Richard, lying near the said cottage, to be occupied with the same while it is inhabited. Richard has allowed the cottage to remain inhabited from 10th February, 1598, to 20th December, 1599, to which 4a. of ground was not assigned or "was laid" "to be used and occupyed" with the said cottage during that time against the Act of Parliament of 31 Elizabeth.
At this session at Maidstone on 23rd September, 1600, Richard Merryam appears by his attorney Herbert Cadman and claims that the indictment is insufficient in law, pleads not guilty and puts himself on the country. John Webb, gentleman, clerk of the peace, prosecutes.

Solomon Ware of Horsmonden, yeoman, becomes surety for Richard Merryam in £10 and Richard for himself, in £20. Sheriff to have the jury there and the same day given to John Webb and to Richard.
