Donor's paternal grandfather, Isaac Gordon, had a milliner's and tailor's shop in New Tredegar. His wife's name was Edith; they had 6 children amongst whom were a teacher, pharmacist and 2 doctors. The donor's great-uncle Mr. Herman H. Roskin, was born in Tredegar in 1883. In World War One he was a captain in the Yorks Regiment and for 3½ years was on the North West Frontier. He was a student at Cardiff and later Oxford University and got B.Sc. from Cardiff and MA from Oxford.
