'Inscribed:' 'These are many of the attitudes assumed by the lamas in their devotions, each of which has a different name.'. '1. Sagnon gnyumshak' [sa-gnon-gnam-gzag]. 'Sanon means that one hand is bent towards sa, the earth, and gnumshak contemplation. Shakya is' 'said to have assumed this position when he was only three years of age.'. '2.' 'Gnyumshak' [gnam-gzag]. 'Shakya placed his hands in this position when he was reading.'. '3. bSumstun' [bsam-stan]' Shakya sat in this position they say night and day for six years' [when he was in the desert]' in the Kingdom of Oudipa on the borders of Naracara.'.
