Gallantry Notes: MC: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty whilst in charge of a section of machine guns. He was untiring in his erffort in selecting good fire positions for his guns, to collect guns and teams of an infantry machine gun company, and to arrange a complete system of cross-fire being the whole time under heavy and continuous fire, It was owing to his courage and skill that a hostile attack was driven off. Throughout, he set a wonderful example of corage and resource.;
