The Town Planning Acts 1909-1932 encouraged district councils to compile planning schemes for their areas, which were subject to approval by the Minister of Health. Ticehurst Rural District was absorbed into Battle Rural District in 1934 and scheme plans for Battle are at DR/A/10.
