Description

Collection of papers concerning explorations in the country west of Lake Nyasa in 1895 by a surgeon who was attached to an expedition lead by R. I. Money: 1. Diary, June-September 1895. 2. Five unpublished short stories: 'The revolution of Benjamin-wad-Wiri'; 'The Lake Trader'; 'the sacrificial altar of the Sandili'; 'The Brimming cup'; 'The thralldom of Stephen Clinch'; and a few pages, untitled, beginning, 'A man's enjoyment of golf...' 3. Fifteen chapters of an unpublished book based on events of the 1895 expedition, with 38 photographic prints prepared as illustrations, river Shire, Hora camp, tribesmen, river steamers etc.

Access is via the Society's Foyle Reading Room and is free to Members and Fellows of the Society and to those in formal education (proof of educational status required e.g. a student/staff card or formal letter of introduction from your institution). For all other visitors a & #163;10 daily access fee applies. All visitors are required to provide personal i.d. such as a driving licence or passport.
