Written from Castle Rocke, Morthoe, north Devon
'Very many thanks ... for the Sanitary Commission Report'. This was the Report of the Army Sanitary Commission which up to that time had regularly expressed opposition to Regulation saying that the efforts to protect the men had been a failure. In 1897 they suddenly reversed this opinion - see 'Shield' May 1897 p 2.
James Stuart approves of Miss Leppington writing an article (See letter of 17 and 18 Aug 1886)
