Description

Prayer scroll with six panels. By a Tibetan artist, mid-19th century. The panels contain circular patterns inscribed with the Tibetan characters 'A', 'Su', 'Ni', 'Tri', 'Pre', and 'Du'. Gouache on cloth with silk brocade ends on rollers; 48 by 7 ins. Presented by Brian Houghton Hodgson August 1864. Note: This scroll, which was amongst Hodgson's papers, could have been acquired by him at any time during his stay in Nepal.
