The Lodge of Joppa No. 188 was established in 1789 and named in 1816. In 1789 the lodge met at the Globe, Hatton Garden, London. The lodge met at various inns and taverns around London until 1883 when it began to meet at Freemasons' Tavern, Great Queen Street, London. It now meets at Freemasons' Hall, Great Queen Street, London.
