Certificate of his Majesties Commissioners appointed for putting in execution an Act intitled an Act for the Explayning of some Dowbts arising upon an Act intituled an Act for the better Execution of his Majesties gracious Declaration for the Settlement of his Kingdome of Ireland and satisfaction of the several interests of Adventurers, Souldiers and other his Subjects there, etc., namely Sir Edward Smith, Lord Chief Justice of his Majesties Court of Common Pleas, Sir Edward Dering, baronet, Sir Allen Broderick, knight, Sir Winston Churchill, knight and Edward Cooke, esquire, reciting that John Briggs, gentleman, exhibited his Peticion before them on 8 March 1665/6, which Peticion came to a final hearing on 22 June 1666 in open Courte at the Kings Inns in Dublin, when it appeared to the Commissioners that the lands thereinafter mentioned were assigned to John Briggs or those under whom he claimed for their service as souldiers in the late Warr of Ireland, and unto transplanted or transplantable persons under whom John Briggs claimed as a Protestant Purchaser of lands in Connaught or Clare, and were in 1659 and 1663 in the actual seisin and possession of John Briggs, and witnessing that it was therefore adjudged that John Briggs was intituled to the following lands, viz:
Cavanstowne containing 137 acres profitable & 11 acres unprofitable plantation measure
Brockaghbeg containing 249 acres profitable & 93 acres unprofitable etc
Mota part of Scriboge containing 166 acres profitable & 11 acres unprofitable etc
In Ballyderry als. Ballingider, part of Scriboge containing 129 acres profitable & 6 acres unprofitable etc
In Knockanaleagh, part of Scriboge containing 159 acres profitable
In Ballyscanlan part of 103 acres profitable - acres unprofitable plantation measure
In Castletowne & Glanbower 143 acres profitable -
In Clonemell? - Gillyduffe 129 acres profitable 15 acres unprofitable etc.

Saving unto his Grace James Duke of Ormond such cheeferyes, rents and services as were due to him in 1641 for the premises in co. Tipperary, and saving unto Sir John Bourke, knight, such right and title as should be decreed him as a nominee of the lands of Carrygynheen als. Currymneene;
The Commissioners' certificate being directed to his Grace James Duke of Ormond, Lord Lieutenant general and general Governor of Ireland, and to his Grace Michaell Lord Archbishop of Dublin, Lord Chancellor of Ireland, and to his Majesties Court of Exchequer there, to the effect that effectual Letters Patent under his Majesties greate Seale of Ireland might be granted to John Briggs for the final Settlement and Confirmation of the premises.
