Notice of a journey from Zanzibar to Benguela.
a) MS copy of letter from de Castro to Governor of Angola 13 April 1852 (as printed in Boletim Official of Loanda for 28 July 1852). 2 double p. foolscap.
b) Summary of route of caravan with comments on the journey, by Cooley. Holo. 1 double p. foolscap and 3p. quarto.
c) Comments on the RGS plan to send an expedition along the above route, by Bollaert. Holo. 1 double p. quarto.
d) Letter from Edmund Palmer to RGS, from St Helena, 15 Sept. 1852 forwarding (e)
e) Copies of 'Boletim Official do Governo Geral da Provincia de Angola' for 24 April and 1 May 1852 with translations of items relating to de Castro's journey.
