Title
Armstrong Siddeley Motors: Visit of representatives from Gloster Aircraft to discuss the installation of the Sapphire engine in the Meteor F.4/48 aircraft
Date
13 July 1948
Description

The Gloster representatives stated it was intended to instal two Sapphire engines in the aircraft with as little modification as possible. Two fuselages intended for the Avon engine were ready, one of which would be allocated for the Sapphire engine as soon as possible in order that they might be flying at an early date. The Gloster representative asked if two of the development engines already on order could be used for this purpose, but Armstrong Siddeley Motors stated that they were not in a position to make a decision
