Marriage settlement

John Sawyer of Heywood, Berkshire, esq and George Sawyer of St James, Westminster, Middlesex, esq (trustees of the Herbert settlement of 30 Jun 1725); William [Nevill] Baron Abergavenny, and his intended wife Rebecca Herbert, daughter of Thomas [Herbert] Earl of Pembroke and Montgomery; Henry [Herbert], Lord Herbert, Robert Herbert esq, (2nd son of the Earl of Pembroke), Henry Pelham of Laughton esq and Elfred Staples of the Middle Temple, London, esq (settlement trustees); Thomas [Herbert] Earl of Pembroke and Montgomery

Trustees agree to invest £6,000 in public or private securities or in the purchase of land, the interest to be paid to WN during his life and after his death to the child or children of WN and RH in equal parts until the age of 21 or marriage, when the principal shall be paid to them.

Provision for repayment of principal to the survivor of WN or RH if there shall be no surviving children of the marriage. If WN's son and heir George Nevill shall have no surviving male children, so that the eldest son of WN and RH shall inherit the title and property, the £6,000 is to be divided among their other children

Recites (1) settlement by TH of marriage portions of £6000 South Sea Annuities apiece on his daughters Margaret Herbert, Elizabeth Herbert and RH, with JS and GS as trustees, 30 Jun 1725; JS and GS have paid £6,000 to the trustees as RH's marriage portion
