9 Aug. Stereoscopic photograph of author sitting on a garden seat talking

8 Oct. Shown the old St. Bartholemew's harmonium which he played "for so many years until the advent of the present unwieldy looking organ"
11 Nov. Vicar reports that he "had the refusal" of a room at the Hare & Hounds in which to hold church services. ("Hitherto a nondescript sort of worship has been kept up on Sunday afternoons" [there]) Vicar said he would try to establish a C. of E. Service and get a layman, e.g. Mr. Jones, to conduct it
13 Nov. Mr. Jones promised to assist at the Mission Room [see above]

24 Jan. A strange butcher said he should come round 3 times a week. Already 3 butchers [in Churchdown], Messrs. Minnit, Garness and Stamp
25 Jan. A man brought what is called an Ocrophone - which sounded very well [evidently a form of gramophone using discs - records - having tunes on each side]
26 Jan. Today refers to the machine as the Ercophone. [He evidently bought it]
7 Feb. Found the place of business of the gramophone and records agents - 23 Worcester Street, Gloucester, 2nd floor
9 March Reference to a traveller for the Wickwar Brewery Company
10 March Copy of inscriptions on the tombstone of the Pick family in Berkeley churchyard
3 April Census shows population of Churchdown to be 1126 (513 males, 613 females) and the number of inhabited houses 280 (uninhabited 20)
