Arrangement (Information about the filing sequence or logical order of the record)
-
Arranged in chronological order according to date. The early volumes have volume numbers and are alphabetically indexed at the front. However, this arrangement is replaced after August 1857 by an agenda item numbering system for each year, e.g. nos. 1 to 202 1857, nos. 1 to 321 1858, nos. 322 to 831 1858 and so on. Each minute post-August 1857 starts with a page giving the date of the meeting and who attended, this information is in manuscript form up to 1915, after which it changes to a typed form. Each agenda item discussed at the meeting is entered in manuscript form on individual pre-printed pages up until December 1892 and then a mixture of pre-printed and damp press copies appear from February 1893 to 1936. These pages usually include the following information: agenda number, estate name, parish, lessee or copyholder and file number. Each entry is usually signed or initialled. There are no indexes in the volumes post-August 1857. The later volumes between 1879 and 1936 do not hold the agenda item numbering range on the spine cover (only the year range).
