Description

Some records of the Wager family of Great Longstone, Derbyshire. (Deposited 1962). Including:

Manor: Bounder of Ashford-in-the-Water, Derbyshire 1570.

Parish: Great Longstone poor's dole of meal minutes, etc. 1801.

Deeds: Lead mining rights in Foolow 1790; re lease of Calver Mill 1815; trust deed (descendants of Matthew Frost of Hassop) 1852.

Accounts: Lead mining reckoning books and lead ore accounts (Calver area and also Gould Bruck Sough, Staffs.) 1760s-1837 (20 vols.) Farming and general business (wages, sale of meal, coal and farm produce): daybooks, etc. 1777-1855 (12 - some relate to lead also). Invoices for gunpowder supplied by J. Wakefield of Kendal 1822-1827.
