Leased from the Crown by Oliver Oglander in 1520, and purchased from the Citizens of London as assignees of the Crown by his great-grandson. Sir John Oglander in 1630.
Besides Whitefield Farm, the manor included Barnsley Farm, Brading Marsh, house property in Brading and the fields called King's land lying between Nunwell and Brading.
