Description

These deeds were inspected and partly transcribed by Thomas Woodcock in 1786-8 and numbered by him 1-44. of the original series Nos. 23, 27 and 31 are now missing. The deeds deposited here relate to the Lathom and Parbold estates, the earliest being that of one Henry de Parbold, undated but probably before 1230. The same witnesses appear on the charter of Henry de Parbold as on Cockersand Charters (vid. Chetham Soc. Vol.40 pp. 458-9 and Vol. 43, pp. 506-9).
