The Troop was formerly known as Baden-Powell's Own Scout Troop, the sixth Lewisham. It was one of the first to be founded, which was in 1908, by the Rev. Fenton, curate of St Laurence's, who was the Troop's first Scoutmaster. The Cub Scout pack began in 1927.
