Casualty Form: wounded in the field 26/9/15 (gsw r thigh) to UK on "Oxfordshire" 29/9/15. 5/2/16 to join 14 DLI. 15/2/16 arrived from UK to Etaples. 16/2/16 joined Bn & transf MGC. 18/9/16 for duty with 46 Coy. 21/9/16 joined from Camiers. 21/10/16 KIA in the field.

"The Looker-on"(Cheltenham) 28/10/1915: "2/Lt Standish Bowden (sic) DLI att MGC (kia 15 October) was the second son of the late Mr S Standish Bowden, of Bakewell and of Mrs Bowden, now of Church Gresley, Burton-on-Trent. He was 23 yrs of age and was educated at Lady Manners' School, Bakewell and Cheltenham College. Afterwards he obtained an appointment under the London County Council. Receiving his commission in September two years ago, he has been almost continuously on active service, and was wounded last year at Loos.";
