Soho July 18. 1802
Dear Sir
It is doubly unpleasant to me to answer your Letter of yesterday.
1st Because it is painful & injurious to my Complaint & contrary to the recent Orders of the Drs to write at all.
2dly Because it is not in my Power to comply with your Request without deranging the Plan I am now carrying into Execution of providing a considerable Sum for a specific & necessary Purpose & in other Respects winding up Property into a solid Form, which I find I cannot do without losing Money & some Friends I have endeavour'd to serve
