Description (What the record is about)
-
Translation of letter from Carl Jacob Wilhelm Scheurke de Fersdorf, Worshipful Master, Christoph Carl Joseph Ludwig von Zeuder, Senior Warden, Christoph Buchner, Junior Warden, Carl Heinrich von Oertel, Secretary and Johann Leonard Seybold, Corresponding Secretary of Lodge of the Three Arrows, No. 473 [erased], Nuremberg, Germany [Lodge of the Three Pillars] to the Grand Master, Moderns' Grand Lodge complaining about action taken by the Provincial Grand Lodge at Frankfurt am Main five years before. With copy letter translation of previous correspondence from Hans Carl Welser von Neuhof, Worshipful Master, Paul Joachim Sigmund Vogel, Senior Warden, Christoph Carl Joseph Ludwig von Gruder, Junior Warden and Christoph Hamer Joachim Haller von Hallerstein, Secretary, providing a brief history of the Lodge which desired to meet under the Moderns' Grand Lodge principles of Masonic equality and liberty rather than the system of Strict Observancy. The Lodge was constituted by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Frankfort, which then erased this German Lodge as it sought a connection with another German Lodge, without contacting the Grand Lodge in London. Mentions opinions of von Grafe, Representative of the Moderns' Grand Lodge and now seeks the opinion of the Grand Lodge on this matter.
