Of the Latin manuscripts now in the collection 23 are medieval, including a noted breviary of York use, an illuminated psalter owned by Simon Meopham, Archbishop of Canterbury, and a copy of the guide for princes by Giles of Rome which was owned by Richard III. Later items include alchemical texts, mathematical studies by Thomas Hariot and Nathaniel Torporley, papers on the persecution of Protestants in Hungary 1676-7, letters of Daniel Ernst Jablonski (1660-1741), campaigner for Protestant unity, and sermons preached before the Fellows of Sion College.

- Three of the Latin manuscripts were sold at Sotheby's 13/6/1977. The sale catalogue is available at Lambeth Palace Library at Z999.S5. In total five Latin manuscripts are missing from the sequence: L40.2/L8 (Processional ... used by the Bridgetine nuns of Syon Abbey, c1480). Missing at Sion College in 1932. Now Syon Abbey, South Brent, Devon: MS 1 (see N.R. Ker, Medieval Manuscripts in British Libraries volume 1: London (Oxford, 1969) p. 269). L40.2/L9 (Suetonius) sold at Sotheby's 13/6/1977 (lot 71). Now San Marino, California, Huntington Library, MS HM 45717 (N. R. Ker, Medieval manuscripts in British libraries: V. Indexes and addenda, ed. I.C. Cunningham and A.G. Watson, Clarendon Press, Oxford, 2002, p. 19). L40.2/L21 (Suetonius) sold at Sotheby's 13/6/1977 (lot 70). Now Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Lat. class. d. 39 (N. R.
