Customary bargain and sale for "Threscoe and one pounde" [£61] (Lancelot Wharton of Old Park, yeo., to John Peirson and his son Henry, both of Mosser, yeomen) - "his customary estate commonly called Tennant-right had used and allowed within the manner or lordship of old Parke afforesaid" "(William Lawson Esq., lord), "to hold by the ancient and laudable customarye estate commonly called Tennantright" comprising a house and land (no tofts mentioned), rent 13s. 10½d., 1645
Customary bargain and sale for natural affection and £8 (Robert Hodgson of the Chapel House in Setmurthy, yeo., and Elizabeth his wife, to their son John of do., yeo.) - customary cottage house and garth called "the Chappell-house in Seckmurthey", rent "Fower Pence" [4d], manor not stated, 1664

[Contemporary copy of] Sir Wilfrid's agreement with his customary tenants of Isel Old Park, "Parcell of the Mannor of Isell", to sell them, for £62. 13s. 1d., all the oak and ash wood now or in the future growing in their customary tenements' hedges as is declared by a jury to be empanelled to be ancient hedges "and to have been soe for at least Fifty five years Last past"; the said wood not to be felled till due notice given to the manor's bailiff, who is to view it first; 24 hours to elapse between notice and felling; power to the tenants to use it for any purpose they wish; clauses as to "rudding" the wood prior to tillage; covenant by Sir Wilfrid that if the tenants make new hedges for their gardens or orchards within 200 yards of "their Mansion Houses" with oaks or ash, he shall not cause them to be felled; clause as to costs of this and of "their Late Suit against the said Sir Wilfrid for the wood in their said Hedges or hedge Rows or Elsewhere"; June 1698

Isel], yeo., and Ann his wife, William Willson of "Aspatricke", yeo., John Scott of "Usebridgend" [Ouse Bridge End], yeo., Hugh Simpson of do., yeo., and Barbara his wife, John Udall of Isel Old Park, yeo., and "Doraty" his wife, Thomas Fell of do., yeo., Henry Pearson of do., yeo., and Joseph Fisher of do., yeo.
Two lists of hedges, the one being those 26 hedges in Henry Pearson's Tenement (sent as letter to John Scott, by hand), the other being the Old Park hedges, listed by Joseph Fisher, Hedge Reive"; both name the fields, their whereabouts, and their hedges' lengths, both [1698]
Customary bargain and sale for natural affection, for advancing his son in life, and for £100 (Henry Peirson of Bank in Isel Old Park, yeo., to Joseph Pearson [sic] his son) - house and land at Bank there, rent 13s.7½d. and 8d. greenhew, together with all .. garths gardens .. to hold after Henry be dead, except for a moiety (half) of the "Middle Quarters", and son Joseph to pay his mother Ann Peirson 30s.0d. half-yearly; to hold "according to the Custom of Tenantright had used and allow'd within Isell Old Parke aforesaid", 1 Oct. 1698

Contemporary copy agreement by Henry Fisher of Oldscale in Wythop and Martha his wife, to John Walker of Wythop Hall, their lessee this day of houses and land at Isel Old Park - J.W. to have wood for husbandry year if growing there, and (to encourage him to dress the ground) leave to fell the fruit trees and "to sell all wood as by the Custom of the Mannor of Isell belongs to the Tennant (Oak, ash, all sorts of Fruit Trees, Wallnut, Ewe [Yew] Tree, and all Sorts of Common Hedgeboot in the Hedges excepted bared [barred] and fore prised)" [i.e. Oak, ash, etc., belonged to the lord]; J.W. to dig up all tree-roots in the four parcels specified, and to make the ground "fit to plow or mow"; J.W. not to remove "any ancient Hedges", nor cut or lay "any Hedges against grassing" without lessor's leave; endorsed "A Coppy of Lingybank wood Article"; text of the agreement is signed by John Walker at foot, 1749

The bargain and sale deed for same (Henry Fisher jun. of Oldscale in Wythop p. Lorton yeo., only son and heir of Martha Fisher deceased, to Sir Gilfrid Lawson of Brayton, Bt.) for £850 - two customary houses and lands called Lingy Bank "in the township of Isell Old Park within the said Manor of Isell Old Park", each of rent 13s. 4d., 8d. greenhew, 6½d cow farm, late of Joseph Fisher (Martha's father) and John Scott (her uncle), thence the late Martha, who with her husband Henry had agreed to sell, and had surrendered them to Sir Wilfrid in the manor court on 26 March 1776; Martha died on 3 May 1776
