Folios 29-30. Letter from Charles Wright, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to the Local Government Board, returning the formal request to let the 8 acres 1 rood 19 perches of land to the executors of the late Mr Pearce for the current year.
As the present lease expires at Old Michaelmas the guardians wish to let the whole farm to George Pearce and have resolved with the permission of the Board to grant him a lease of the same terms for 8 years, yearly rent being £80.
Request to Local Government Board to consent to letting dated 1 February 1875. The form describes the land as being 2 pieces of arable land, part of the estate of the union, next to or near adjoining the union workhouse. Signed by R C Browne [Richard Charles Browne], chairman.
Annotated: Order dated 24 March and sent 1 April 1875 for letting of parcel of land.
Annotated: 'As to proposal to let of the whole farm to Mr George Pearce for the term of 8 years, refer to the [G C Department]', 8 February 1875.
