Administrative / biographical background

St Paul's, Northumberland Heath has its origins in a small mission church established in Mill Road in 1874. The years that followed showed a rapid growth in the population of the area. By 1900 the existing building could no longer accommodate the whole congregation and work was begun on a new church. The church was completed the following year and consecrated by the Bishop of Dover. A further extension was added to the Church in 1905 and the following year St Paul's, Northumberland Heath was constituted as a Parish in its own right.
